Underwear you do not think about all day
PUREVO makes boxer briefs and undershirts that hold their shape, do not ride up, and still feel soft after fifty washes. That sounds like a low bar. It is not.
Why most boxer briefs disappoint
Cotton feels good in the shop but loses its shape. After a few months the waistband is loose, the legs ride up and the fabric has turned rough. Polyester does keep its shape, but it takes on odour — and that does not come out in the wash. Most men solve this by buying a fresh stack every year and forgetting about it until the problem returns.
What we changed about it

A fibre that stays smooth
TENCEL™ Modal has a closed fibre structure. It feels smoother than cotton and stays that way after washing.

A fit that stays put
Longer legs, four-way stretch and a reworked crotch. It moves with you instead of riding up.

Fewer seams
Every seam is a place where something can chafe. We left out as many as we could.

Silk in the waistband
The waistband sits against your skin all day. That is exactly where nothing should rub.
Why we chose TENCEL™ Modal
TENCEL™ Modal is spun from wood. Not from an oil product, and not from cotton that needs a field and a great deal of water. These are the points that can be evidenced:
- Wood from responsibly managed forests (FSC / PEFC).
- A production process in which most of the substances used are recovered and used again.
- EU Ecolabel, licence number AT/016/001.
- OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100: tested for harmful substances.
- According to Lenzing, at least 50% less CO₂ and water than conventional lyocell and modal.
What we do not claim
Our boxer briefs are 92% TENCEL™ Modal and 8% elastane. The elastane is there because the fit needs it — and it means we cannot call the finished garment biodegradable. The fibre itself is. We also do not call ourselves “sustainable”: without figures that word says nothing. We would rather tell you where the material comes from, and what has and has not been demonstrated.
Why I started this
I am Sam van den Broek. PUREVO started because every year I bought another stack of boxer briefs that disappointed within a few months. At some point I stopped looking for a better brand and started making one.
I read every review myself. If something is off about the fit, I hear about it and we change it: the longer legs and the reworked crotch come straight out of feedback from customers who had already bought from us.
